Changes that Reveal SEO Future

Google has made some huge changes in the last few months and all these changes are the part of long term strategy that has many factors. In nutshell Google is doing an awesome job of pushing those people away who do tactical or bad SEO and insisting them to move towards a more strategic approach.

Here is a look at important developments in SEO and the initiatives that are driving this change:-

  • Matt Cutts (Google’s engineer) has said, Toolbar Page Rank will not be updated again this year, resulting many to conjecture that Page Rank will not matter. Still many people use it to measure the performance and prominence of their site. For instance, the websites that has Page Rank 7 on their home page, it is reasonable to assume that this website has some chops. On the other hand, the website that has Page Rank 3 on its home page, then it may be new or of low quality experience. If Google itself shuts this data flow entirely, then it would not be surprising because then the people have to rely on other measurements. So if the Google says they don’t use it, then why should we?

  • Hummingbird:
  • This is really a great change in platform or a core quality change. Google has developed a capability to understand the search queries in the conversation form much better than before. The hummingbird update really changes the keyword game little. And in the upcoming time, the exact keyword matches will no longer be a great deal. The impact of this algorithm is likely to be seen in at least after two years.

  • The Google also announced that “up to 10% users” needs the information that is broad. This is a big number and over the time, this feature will become a big deal. This is a new type of way to rank well in search engines. This increases the publisher rank and author rank, and this would be considered as a ranking factor at some point by Google.

    It is not like that Google has designed these initiatives to stop the tactical things and make them strategic but it is just a case that Google just took these initiatives to reward outstanding sites.
